The Official LPC 2011 Hype List

With just nine days left before the new year and no more new releases in 2010 outside of two new OFWGKTA releases in the final week, it's time to look forward to what 2011 has to offer. Release dates are not final and can change at any time, but for the most part they should be accurate.

None of the bands listed (to my knowledge) have said anything about a new album in 2011 yet, but the general opinion is that each release listed will be out by the end of the year. This could fall in the above category of albums that WILL come out in 2011 at some point, but as stated in the first sentence none of the artists listed have officially mentioned anything about a new album to this point.

Look out for the following this week:

Later Today - 2010 LPC Readers' Poll (the readers' top ten albums of 2010)
Tomorrow - LPC Writers' Top Ten Tracks of 2010
Christmas Eve - The LPC November/December Mixtape
Christmas Day and the day after - Link Day (we'll be posting anything and everything that we feel like posting)

Hopefully this all goes smoothly. Hope you enjoyed the Hype List and look for the Readers Poll either later this afternoon or tonight.

  1. Would also like to mention that Circle Takes The Square should be coming out with an album in 2011 (hopefully). Looking forward to that very much.

  2. PJ Harvey, Dre, Kanye and Jay-Z, Beastie Boys, Talib Kweli and possibly DJ Shadow. Should be a good year.

  3. VIRUS - The Agent That Shapes The Desert might be "early 2011", supposed to be Nov 2010, but I guess it didn't work out. Preorders will probably be shipped this month or Janurary.
    Lifelover - Sjukdom Feb 14
    Dornenreich - Flammentriebe Feb 14
Lantlos has an album planned for next year, but I'm not sure of the title.

I may try to find some more. I'm pretty bad in the business of finding upcoming releases.

  4. Also, Jan 5 is a repressing of the first four Swans albums, if you want to include reissues. At that point, we may be treading into too much work.

  5. oh god I forgot Heretoir's debut in Feburary.
I suppose you can add an untitled Thranenkind album. They hope to have it by the end of 2011.

Maybe I'll just use the thread, lol

  6. Wow, that's a lot more album than I was expecting. Great job on covering so much. Also for hip-hop fans: Curren$y plans on releasing Pilot Talk III in April, as well as a new album as soon as next month, and Jay Electronica as a big year in preparation.

  7. Tim Hecker has a release date: February 14th

  8. added burzum fixed some dates and other stuff

  9. Hey, Port Entropy was a 2010 album. I was planning on posting it here last year, actually, lol.
